Hi Chuck,

Your silver probably just needs to be hand polished with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive silver polish to bring back the shine. It should be properly stored in either a flatware chest with tarnish-resistant lining, or in a flatware storage roll or bag made with tarnish-resistant fabric.

We had been told that putting a box or a few pieces of Chalk in the silver drawer would keep all the flat ware from tarnishing. Well, it works. All the flatware looks like tin. No patena or even a hint that it is wonderful silver flatware. Since it is Sir Christopher by Wallace it is a good flat ware and has been handed down from the Grand Parents. We are all VERY upset.
We are looking to put the patena back on and hope that we have not distroyed it. Be careful.
