Hello and thank you for visiting our site. 

This blog began as a way to provide more information to our customers at SilverCollect.com about the history of antique silver and silverplate flatware and holloware; and also about discontinued stainless steel patterns.   We like to include references, antique ads and articles associated with these items from our collection of vintage and antique magazines, manufacturer catalogs and other historical references.

Our focus has become somewhat broader due to so many other interesting articles and ads in these old magazines so we decided to preserve some of this history too by sharing them with you.  We have articles from Victorian and Edwardian era magazines which include fashion, recipes and needlework patterns, household tips, decor and decorating, among others.  We have also included images of vintage and antique postcards from our ephemera collection.

And finally, we have included a category titled Artisan Handcrafted to let you know about some of the wonderful artisans out there.
